COST ESTIMATE

What does medical care in China cost? Start with case details, not a random number

There is no single fixed price. A preliminary estimate can only be requested after the hospital reviews the case information, available records, and services being considered. An estimate is not a final bill.

How a preliminary estimate is prepared

  1. The case is successfully recorded and receives a Case ID.
  2. A coordinator checks the completeness of the required information and documents.
  3. The hospital reviews the case and service needs; BKC does not determine treatment.
  4. The hospital provides a preliminary estimate that may still change after the doctor's evaluation.

Which records are needed before the hospital prepares an estimate?

  • Diagnosis and pathology reports.
  • Recent imaging and test results.
  • Prior treatment history and responses.
  • Current condition and the questions the family wants the hospital to answer.

What affects cost

Medical costs are usually influenced by several categories: city, type of service, hospital, and treatment duration. This page does not list price figures.

  • Destination city and travel costs
  • Type of service or evaluation requested
  • Hospital and treating team
  • Treatment or recovery duration

Cost categories to keep separate

BKC does not publish figures before the case information is reviewed. Where applicable, each category is explained separately so families can understand its scope.

  • BKC coordination fee, if any, confirmed separately.
  • Hospital and medical-service costs based on hospital review.
  • Interpretation or language support, if needed and available.
  • Visa, travel, accommodation, and companion needs, where applicable.

Unknown medical costs remain subject to hospital review. BKC does not promise fixed prices, hospital acceptance, or clinical outcomes.

How to prepare a budget range

Note the range you are prepared for and the cities you are considering as an initial discussion basis. A coordinator will help you understand what to confirm with the hospital.

Common questions

When can a written estimate be requested?

A written estimate can be requested after the hospital reviews the diagnosis, pathology or imaging reports, prior treatment history, and proposed services. Availability, preparation time, and contents are determined by the hospital; the estimate does not set a fixed price and is not a final bill.

Is the estimate the same as the final bill?

No. A preliminary estimate is prepared after the hospital reviews the available case information and records. The final bill may change after the doctor's evaluation, additional tests and agreement on the care plan.

Does BKC help with insurance claims?

BKC can help prepare documents for an insurance claim submission. Approval and coverage are determined by your insurer, so you still need to confirm the policy directly with the insurance provider.

Why are there no fixed prices on this page?

Cost depends on the diagnosis, document completeness, required tests, hospital, team and care plan. BKC does not set medical prices; official figures can only come from the hospital after case review.

What cannot be promised

This page does not provide a definitive estimate, does not list fixed prices, and does not promise figure accuracy. Official figures come only from the hospital.
