Liver cancer: organise the care history

Organised records help the doctor understand previous care and remaining questions.

Understand the topic

Primary liver cancer starts in the liver. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a major type. Bile duct cancer is a distinct group that also needs to be identified in the records.

Three things to discuss

  1. Bring existing imaging and test reports, including available liver function results.

  2. Record prior surgery, local procedures, and current and past medicines.

  3. Ask about the review goal, any further tests, and responsibility for follow-up.
