01Understand this condition
Cholangiocarcinoma starts in bile ducts. Intrahepatic, hilar, and distal locations influence assessment and possible procedures.
02How it is assessed
Imaging, liver function, bile-drainage needs, and sampling methods require team assessment. Jaundice or one blood marker is insufficient.
03Care pathways
Selected cases may involve surgery. Systemic treatment and selected molecular testing can matter in advanced disease; drainage addresses obstruction when needed.
04Important distinctions & limits
Bile-duct cancer differs from liver-cell cancer. A stent may restore drainage; it does not establish that all disease is controlled.

Understand the disease type first. An organ name is not enough. Pathology, stage, and general condition give context.
Each specialty has a role. Medical, radiation, and surgical oncology may work together according to the case.
An MDT brings perspectives together. A multidisciplinary team discusses findings and options. Team composition depends on the case.
Bring clear questions. BKC supports coordination. Diagnosis and medical decisions remain with licensed clinicians.
