01Understand this condition
Ovarian cancer includes epithelial, germ-cell, and stromal tumours, which do not all follow the same care pathway.
02How it is assessed
Symptoms, pelvic assessment, imaging, and selected blood markers inform evaluation. CA-125 alone cannot diagnose cancer; tissue assessment depends on the plan.
03Care pathways
Surgery and systemic treatment often contribute to care. Molecular testing in selected types may inform targeted-treatment and family-risk discussions.
04Important distinctions & limits
Bloating and pelvic pain have many causes. Cyst size or one tumour-marker result cannot determine malignancy or surgery.

Understand the disease type first. An organ name is not enough. Pathology, stage, and general condition give context.
Each specialty has a role. Medical, radiation, and surgical oncology may work together according to the case.
An MDT brings perspectives together. A multidisciplinary team discusses findings and options. Team composition depends on the case.
Bring clear questions. BKC supports coordination. Diagnosis and medical decisions remain with licensed clinicians.
